Little Hoover Commission Releases Report on Reorganization Principles

On Friday, December 10, 2004, the Little Hoover Commission submitted a report on reorganization principles to Governor Schwarzenegger and the California Legislature. The report, Historic Opportunities: Transforming California State Government, is available on the Commission’s Web site: www.lhc.ca.gov. Printed copies will be available by Wednesday, December 15, 2004.

Historic Opportunities: Transforming California State Government is the result of three public hearings on principles for reorganizing government, as well as previous work of the Commission on redesigning government and solving difficult policy problems. The hearings explored the opportunities and lessons associated with large-scale organizational change. In its report, the Commission examines the framework of the organizational recommendations offered by the California Performance Review and makes suggestions for how those ideas should be refined and implemented.
